thoughts on instagib mode in rc3

Been trying out the instagib mode again, and im not sure if i like changes to the TOD50.

  • Due having "infinite" ammo, the TOD50 now only has one shot in a mag and thus scopes out after every shot. While this is what i would do via a script anyways (seems more natural to me) it might not be intentional.
  • TOD50 now has no reload animation, which takes away an indicator of how soon it may be ready to fire.
  • I'm not sure about infinite ammo capacities. having to put in a new mag in adds a new tactical component to sr8 only.

It should have a simple bolting animation but no mag reload.

Not sure why there is so much focus on adding a plethora of game modes when there are other things that could be improved.

i just had the idea that one could maybe add a serverside cvar to set the amout of bullets in a mag?
where 0 would be equal to the current state(maybe with an added bolt action animation)
1 would require additional time to reload (switch the mag, instead of only bolt action)
and every other value would just be the number of bullets in the mag

4 additional thoughts on instagib:
- the weapon doesn't point at the middle / crosshair
- after a hit, there is no hit message - only a kill message
- I can't find the setting to adjust the crosshair

- maybe it would be a cool feature to have a server cvar which defines which hitzones are avi - so you can make a hs only server or a buttshot only server :)

Considering that every hit is a kill, it becomes futile no ? Or is it to know which body part you managed to land a hit on ?

To add a CVAR g_headshotsonly could be really interesting indeed, not only for GunGame by the way :)

Yes, I think everybody wants to know if he managed to shoot in the head or in the foot.
