I'm not super old but played daily between 2006 and 2012. I mainly was involved in icyjumping under the name miku_fanboy and played on the wildcat 24/7 severs for many years, my favourite being swim map.
I've played about 5 hours in the past 7 years because it's just not the same atmosphere and people. I will say this game at the time I was finishing secondary school and going to college and the game was my go-to to chill and relax, best few years and gaming of my life looking back despite what I may have said in the past due to frustration of stagnation. I only installed the game because Linux had no games back then and for us this game was like triple A rated good sh*t.
Kinda weird hobby almost but there are some very good but old maps made for this game in the past almost two decades, same with wolf:et, and the map zips some contain interesting text files about people and development of community maps which is a real trip down memory lane. It's just not like that any more.

I miss this game. I gave it a few years of my life lol
I think it was 2011 and 2012 or so, I was playing daily multiple hours a day... some days also did 6-10 hours long streaks, remember being exhausted by it but couldn't stop ahahah
I seriously miss it, miss the people, miss my friends at B00bs server (I was a mod there).
One day I realized servers were dying, and I was playing way too much, so I uninstalled and promised myself never play again.
After some months I came back and found servers were totally dead. So there it was my RIP UrT.
Time passes and we don't realize.
I'm too old for it now, I've stopped gaming altogether years ago as life got busy. I never liked too much realistic games. I liked Urt because it was rough, straight to the point and ran on linux and even "poor" hardware.
But god how much I miss the fun I had on this game.
Checked on gametracker and it looks like all my nicks were deleted or took over. what a pity.
a friendly salute to b00bs, HSS, sexy's, falling angels for their servers.
Also a wave to the gamers I played with. Don't want to type names, it would be too long to make a list.
Best of luck to you all, wherever you are in this crazy world.
