The "r_gamma" parameter (or the “brightness” of the game console) does not work well: the brightness increases, but the color and contrast disappears, so the map becomes ugly.
This is a bad idea - to change the brightness (saturation, contrast) when changing maps during the game.
I always use r_gamma "1.2" (default)
