Hello and please help!!

I already read and tried all the variants to fix the Brightness problem and nothing happens.
Everything looks dark.

Try r_ignorehwgamma 0
restart
Try r_ignorehwgamma 1
restart
r_gamma 3.0 or r_gamma 1.0
restart
r_ext_gamma_control 1
restart

NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GTX/9800 GTX+
Windows 10 pro 2004
CPU Intel® Core™ i7 CPU 860 @ 2.80GHz, 2801 Mhz,
16gb RAM

It always worked very well in this same configuration without having changed anything on the hardware, except the mouse. And windows updates.

Thanks in advance

Hello Maurus, there have been some problems with Windows updates in the past, which interfered with brightness settings for games. For some it helped to manually update Windows, for some it didn't. Unfortunately there is not much we can do about that, sorry!

The m9 client uses SDL 2, it may resolve the issue. It definitely fixes the brightness issue for LInux =]

Hi Maurus, I managed to fix this by creating a shell script to set the brightness before running UT and setting back after exit.

You need to know the screen name to use with xrandr.
just type: xrandr and you'll see the list of displays:

Here is the script:

#!/bin/bash

# Urban Terror startup script
# tells UrT to run on one monitor
export SDL_VIDEO_FULLSCREEN_HEAD=1

# Set brightness because NVIDIA Performance Mode make screen darker
xrandr --output HDMI-1-1 --brightness 2

# launches UrT, be sure to point this to wherever your UrT folder is
~/jogos/UrbanTerror43/Quake3-UrT.x86_64

# Set brightness back to default
xrandr --output HDMI-1-1 --brightness 1
