If possible, it would be amazing to have swim in 4.1.  That's such an incredible map!

Thanks.

that would be the team and we are not looking at updating them, hopefully the community can respect our decision and not take it upon themselves.

... removal of q3 textures is what's causing his problem.

Is there any possibility of a "texture pack", so that the individual maps don't need to be tweaked and UT4 doesn't need to rely on any of the base Q3A .paks?

I realize this presents legal difficulties for those who aren't using a full commercial copy of Q3A as Id no doubt still holds copyright to the images and hasn't released them; would it be possible to have a hook for UT4 to look for a "Q3A textures .pak" (or even the base Q3A files) and just proceed if not found?

I'm NOT asking the devs to compose a textures .pak, that's simple enough for the community to do.

...or do I have a fundamental misunderstanding of the Q3A mod model and adding a Q3A textures pack actually wouldn't require any changes in UT4? (Just drop an appropriately-named .pak file in the UT4 directory and it would automagically be incorporated...)

There's also scale and lighting, not just textures.

...but the scaling and lighting information in the pre-4.x map file hasn't changed, so it should still work...?

Indeed, the scaling and lighting information hasn't changed in the pre-4.x map... but it has in the game. It will work, however, with some downsides.

The player model size has changed, so they won't fit through certain entrances/tunnels/whatever (scaling) and the map will appear very dark in 4.0 (lighting).
