hi Fnortner...if you wanna bind a key, first you wanna see what key, if any, is bound to demo recording.....to check this, open your q3config.cfg file....make sure the blinking cursor is at the beginning of file, which it should be...next, at the top click on 'Edit'....then click 'Find'....and in the 'Find what' field type this....vstr record_demo.....then make sure that in the 'Direction' field that 'Down' is selected....then click 'Find Next'
if it doesn't find 'vstr record_demo' bound to a particular key, then that would indicate that there is no key bound to this feature
to bind a key, just add this line in there.....bind F12 "vstr record_demo"....this is just an example though....you can use a diff. key

I've managed to record an avi file of a demo, but I can't play it cos its corrupted. I've tried many times and it only seems to work on 'My Player' but it was rejected by all my video editing programs. They all gave me a common error: File is corrupted.

try in config
seta cl_aviMotionJpeg 0 //its probably set to 1
or convert this "corrupted" .avi to uncompressed .avi in virtualdub or other program
both methods got cons and pros
