When runing the instaler in admin mode it says.
"it cant find the zpak000.pk3" yet, when not run in admin mode it finds said file.
also "README_urt4_mapmaker.html" has a lot of dead links...

Q3Radiant:
- I don't know much about it and few still use it.
- Not an inferior editor, just support will be rather limited.
- NulL, one of UrT's best mappers, uses it.
Windows install guide:
Q3Radiant
GTKRadiant 1.4:
- Older and less stable, i.e. crashes more often.
- Everything comes with mapmaker so if using the .bat doesn't work, edit the .bat and do each step manually.
Windows install guide:
MapMaker using GTKRadiant 1.4
GTKRadiant 1.5:
- Stable but has a few changes from 1.4, some good, some interesting (as in some 1.4 users don't like it).
- I use 1.5 and recommend it over 1.4 for stability and I can do everything I could in 1.4 with minor adjustments.
Windows install guide:
GTKRadiant 1.5
Windows 7 additional install info:
Windows 7 info
NetRadiant:
- Built from GTKRadiant 1.5
- Should work on Windows and OSX.
- I have no experience with it but others have used it with good results.

NetRadiant
ZeroRadiant (1.6):
- Built from GTKRadiant 1.4 (so it's feels like 1.4 yet is more stable)
- rfx has added some 1.5 and other features, though it takes a little more patience to get it running and adding the upgrades.

Radiant version summary:
I advise not to use GTKRadiant 1.4. GTKRadiant 1.5 will serve you well, though ZeroRadiant has more recent dev support. If you're not attached to GTKRadiant 1.5 style or are willing to transition to ZeroRadiant, use ZeroRadiant. Q3Radiant will also get the job done. NetRadiant should also be fine.
Welcome to mapping. Just getting everything set up is a challenge that we've all been through.

This is likely true. The mapmaker is outdated. Unfortunately there is no UrT4.1 SDK (which the mapmaker tries to me). I'd like to get a 4.2 SDK made with help from FS and the community in the future. Forking this thought to another thread.

I also took a stab at a few maps for Wolf ET but I tried making the maps too large although functional; just never got it to a release stage. I had a lot of fun trying though.
I am going to install this mdk kit; I am using 1.5 and should I just remove all the textures that come with it? Are their any included in this install?
