i meant what i said, 'it's true "accidental" dropping is different than intentional' i.e. sometimes dropping it bothers me that teammates may think an enemy killed me while everything is fine so reporting i dropped it intentionally sounds a good idea.

Scrolling through weapons would be way better if:
-picked up weapons fell into place (secondaries always end up at the end...)
-nades on the ground could be ignored:)

What about us players who like scrolling through weapons but don't like having to look because of the possibility of having picked up a smoke nade, BUT don't want to use the weapontoggle binds?

I think I've read somewhere in these forums some time ago that this was a bug; wich was fixed and then came back in 4.0
Fixed bug coming back is what Os call a "feature"  :-D

I know you wanted no weaptoggle binds but try this script I threw together just now. I didn't fully test it out but it should work. Let me know if it has a few kinks (or fix it yourself if you already know some scripting  :-) ).

//Mousewheel Weapon Select

//Nades. Cycles between both nade types and
//will choose HE first if wielding any other type of weapon.

seta nade_s "vstr he_nade;set gun_s vstr primary"
seta he_nade "ut_weaptoggle grenade;weapon 11;set nade_s vstr smoke_nade"
seta smoke_nade "ut_weaptoggle grenade;set nade_s vstr he_nade"
bind mwheelup "vstr nade_s"

//Here when you scroll down it will first choose
//secondary because you spawn wielding your primary
//then it will choose your pistol and back to your primary.

seta pistol "ut_weaptoggle sidearm primary;set gun_s vstr primary;set nade_s vstr he_nade"
seta secondary "ut_weaptoggle secondary sidearm;set gun_s vstr pistol;set nade_s vstr he_nade"
seta primary "ut_weaptoggle primary secondary;set gun_s vstr secondary;set nade_s vstr he_nade"
seta gun_s "vstr secondary"
bind mwheeldown "vstr gun_s"

//EOF

Not sure how it will work out if a player doesn't have a secondary in inventory, though.

EDIT:
should work okay now

And woekele, can you please ask 27 to fix that ut_weaptoggle command for speed... atm having seperate keys for primary and secondary (ut_weaptoggle primary on one etc) allows you to spam back and forth between em as fast as you can press the buttons, with ut_weaptoggle primary secondary you have to time the keypress cause it won't change so fast at all.

I guess that's cause it has to 'read' what weapon you have now and that's apparently not possible untill you have fully switched.

The switch animation has to get initiated as soon as you press the button so there might be some intermediate state that allows fast spamming of this button ?

Yeah, so the ut_weaptoggle would have to use $switched_to_weapon instead of $currentweapon . I can ask.
