I am sure this question has been asked, but I coulnd't find it in search.
How do i get the new maps to work? I am on a mac btw. I DLed kingdom and unzipped it. I got this folder named "kingdom.pk3". It has a bunch of files in it. What do i do or where do i put it to make the map work?
I know there is a post about IE, but nothing for macs. maybe i should have posted this in the mac section. :/

hmmmm.....
7.2.2 - Installing community maps
Each map available is designated with the extension, .pk3, .zip or .pk3.zip, please take note of the file you downloaded.. Files with .pk3 extensions can be downloaded and placed in your quake3/q3ut3/ directory. If the file has a.zip extension open the file using Winzip. If you see many files within this .zip, close WInzip and rename the .zip extension to .pk3. If you open the file using Winzip and see a .pk3 file, extract the contents to your /q3ut3.
Remember all map .pk3s will be placed in the /quake3/q3ut3 directory. DO NOT create a separate /map directory or DO NOT extract files from a .pk3, this will only cause a problem and the maps will not load correctly.

Problem is probably that your mac decides to rename the file to .zip ,even though it is actually a .pk3. Do not unzip it. Rename it back to .pk3 and put it in the q3ut4 folder.
Better would be to use a decent browser (Firefox?) to download the map files, that way it won't do that stupid renaming.

ok, i think i got it now.
i think.
thanks for your help. tbh, i did the exact same thing i did with the other game i play, Tremulous, to get the maps to work. i just thought this game might be different. it uses the same engine though, so i guess i am just dumb. anyways, great game. i got my clan and a few other players from Tremulous to play this game too.
