A debian package was built and is waiting to be included in the archives. I doubt that will happen any time soon because there was some discussion about the non-free -data package. Anyway, there are sourcepackages on mentors.debian.org, see [1] and [2] if you want to compile them on your own. The -data package is configured to download the data stuff in it's postinst hook, so the download will happen on installing the .deb.

I'm not sure if this package is built by the guy that posted his stuff in this topic, however, I checked the source and it doesn't look like any source code was changed.
The RFS mails are [3] and [4], I'll contact the debian games team when ubuntu hardy was released to further discuss on what to do with those packages.

I don't think that Frozen Sands is overly keen on the licensing change that would be necessary to get Urban Terror as an official .deb Linux distribution.

I'm sure that it would be good for Urban Terror to be introduced to the Linux community via an official channel but Frozen Sands probably feel that it would have no reason to allow that.

I think there's a chance that we could all miss an opportunity here.

A guy by the name of paranoid penguin made an install script for ubuntu awhile back and the people at the ++Beer-Garden++ (including myself) guinea pigged it and it works just fine.  If its alright with the mods I could put up the file or the code.

Hi all,

Thought I'd post in this old thread to see if anyone knows if there is any news on the .deb-package for urban terror. There are .debs available for both Ubuntu and Mint. I'm running Debian proper and I'm a bit wary about trying them as they might be -and probably are- compiled using modified packages compared to Debian proper.

So, does anyone know if there are 64-bit .debs for Lenny out there, or if there are repositories whcih can be used to download it?

Thanks for any info or help.
/CZ

There is a deb package for Ubuntu Hardy (32 bit) that can be found on GetDeb site http://www.getdeb.ne...=urban%20terror
Just add 'deb http://ubuntu.org.ua/ getdeb/' to your apt sources.list file
If updating thru their apt repository doesnt work you can always download the file from the link above...
