yes, the cvar works (I had the same problem and consulted the forum to find a fix). but wouldn't it be much more future proof and player friendly to change DEFAULT_CURL_LIB to libcurl.so on linux instead of a specific version..? or at least mention it in the (linux-)readme?

right, I'm complaining on the wrong forum again
but anyway, I think any UrT linux player will eventually encounter this problem (as version 3 of libcurl is outdated) and a lot of people want to try a new maps. So maybe mention this in the FAQ or make this topic sticky?
