Thank you for your interest in using the Urban Terror™ Accounts Service by Frozen Sand.
Player Name registration will be conducted on a first come basis. You may not (1) select or use a Player Name of another person with the intention of impersonating that person, (2) use the registered player name of anyone else without Urban Terror staff authorization, (3) use a Player Name that is intended to be an imitation or derivative of another Player Name, (4) use a Player Name that is considered by Frozen Sand at its sole discretion to be inflammatory toward another player.
You may hold only one account. Registering more than one account by the same person is strictly against our wishes.
You or the owner of the Content retain ownership of all right, title and interest in Content that you post to public areas of any Frozen Sand product or service site. However, by submitting or posting Content to public areas of Frozen Sand website, you grant Frozen Sand, its parent, affiliates, subsidiaries, assigns, agents and licensees the irrevocable, perpetual, right to reproduce, display, perform, distribute, adapt and promote this Content in any medium. Once you submit or post Content to any public area on Urban Terror or Frozen Sand websites, Frozen Sand does not need to give you any further right to inspect or approve uses of such Content or to compensate you for any such uses. Frozen Sand owns all right, title and interest in any compilation, collective work or other derivative work created by Frozen Sand using or incorporating Content posted to public areas of Frozen Sand products and services.
You may not sell, assign, grant a security interest in or otherwise transfer any right of the Frozen Sand services or incorporate it (or any portion of it) into another product. You may not copy the Software or its services. You may not translate reverse-engineer or reverse-compile or decompile, disassemble, make derivative works from, or otherwise attempt to discover any source code in the Software. You may not modify the Software or use it in any way not expressly authorized by these Terms of Service. You may not obtain the communications protocol for accessing the Urban Terror Accounts service or any other Frozen Sand services. Finally, you may not authorize or assist any third party to do any of the things described in this paragraph.
Please remember that not knowing the rules is not a valid excuse for breaking them. Also note, that while the administrators and moderators prefer to simply warn people, it is possible we may find it more effective to suspend an account and notify the user outside of the forums. Remember, use of these forums is a privilege, not a right.
These rules are in no way meant to curtail the fun we've all grown accustom to. Comments and remarks made in obvious jest are allowed.
INAPPROPRIATE TOPICS
Modifications (Mods):
The development team asks you not to modify Urban Terror or its resources files in any way. Please respect their choice. Do not create threads about this.
Map Decompilations:
If you wish to modify a map, you must contact the original mapper for permission as they hold a copyright on their created works.
Server Problems:
Unfortunately, the development team does not run all of the servers and cannot remedy issues with server administrators, with players on that server, or the fact that you may have been banned. Should you have any problem on a server, please contact the server's administrator(s) directly.
Solicition
The solicitation of funds for any purpose is not allowed.

Malicious Behavior:
Any behavior which is meant to cause harm to any user and/or their property, whether it be on this forum or outside of it, is forbidden. Even meant to be humorous, this is still forbidden. Any such behavior is grounds for immediate suspension.
Attacks towards Administrators and Moderators:
Persons consistantly attacking forum administrators and/or moderators will have their account(s) suspended. In this context, "consistantly" is defined as contacting an administrator and/or moderator with an issue previously resolved in the eyes of the administrator/moderator more than two (2) times.
Racism and Harassment:
There shall be no posting of racist material, be it textual or pictorial. Nor shall there be any posting of material meant to harass any person due to their gender, sexual orientation, age, religion, and/or familiarity with Urban Terror or any other topic.
Images:
No person shall post any image which is graphic or sexual in nature. It must be suitable for display on all websites with any audience type. That means children of an age 13+.
Pirated Software:
No person shall make requests for pirated software (warez). No discussions regarding where to obtain pirated software (warez) are permitted on these forums.
Flames:
Posts made with the intent of inciting argument are only permitted within Rants & Raves.
Trolling:
Posts that are controversial, inflammatory, irrelevant or off-topic with the primary intent of provoking other users into an emotional or disciplinary response, or otherwise disrupt normal on-topic discussion are not allowed. These conditions are relative, and shall be decided upon by an administrator and/or moderator at the time of reading of the message in question.
Spamming:
No person shall post messages with meaningless/trivial content. The state of a message being meaningless and/or trivial is decided upon by an administrator and/or moderator at the time of reading of the message in question.
Automatic Censorship:
No person shall circumvent via any means the automatic censorship.
Resurrecting Threads Older Than Thirty (30) Days:
While it is not forbidden to post in a thread where the last response is older than thirty (30) days, you may do so only in good faith. "Good faith" is herein defined as the intent to kindle past discussion with the direct use of previous material. No user shall resurrect a thread with a last response older than thrity (30) days for the expressed purpose of asking for a status update. Users are warned by the forum software if the thread has a last response time of more that thirty (30) days ago.
Common Sense:
It is required that all users make use of Common Sense (WikiPedia) when posting.

Censorship:
In order to maintain a level of language suitable for all persons on these forums, administrators may make use of automatic word replacement to replace offensive words with less offensive alternatives. Administrators may also edit a post manually to remove any offensive content.
Moved Content:
In order to facilitate orderly distribution of information and questions, an administrator or moderator may move a post to a discussion area where the post may be better suited.
USER INFORMATIONS
Usernames:
No user shall create an account whose username which contains content which is prohibited by the aforementioned rules. In addition, no username shall contain graphic or sexual words, purposeful misspellings of these words, or these words with some or all letters replaced by symbols or numbers. Accounts found in violation of these rules will be removed without notice.

Each user is, by default, allowed to present a signature with their posts. Signatures should be no more than 160 pixels in height when rendered with text. No image within a signature shall exceed 500 pixels in width or 160 pixels in height. The total file size of all images in the signature shall not exceed 100 kilobytes. Images within the signature may be animated and/or transparent. Repeated abuse of the signature will result in a user no longer having the ability to display a signature.
Avatars:
Each user is, by default, allowed to present an avatar measuring no more than 100 pixels in width, 100 pixels in height, and 75 kilobytes in size. Avatars may be animated and/or transparent. Repeated abuse of the avatar will result in a user no longer having the ability to display an avatar.

1 Urban Terror Accounts Terms of Service Agreement
By using or registering for the Urban Terror Accounts Service (defined below), you agree to the terms and conditions ("Terms of Service") and the Urban Terror Accounts Privacy Policy. If you do not wish to be bound by these Terms of Service, you may discontinue use of the service.2 Modifications to the Terms of Service
Frozen Sand may change the Terms of Service at any time and at its sole discretion. The modified Terms of Service will be effective immediately upon posting and you agree to the new posted Terms of Service by continuing your use of the Urban Terror Accounts Service. If you do not agree with the modified or amended Terms of Service, you may cancel your registration or discontinue its use.3 Requirements for Use or Registration for Urban Terror Accounts
Urban Terror Accounts is a server authentication tool intended for use by server admins and players of the Quake 3 mod – Urban Terror. By registering or using the service, you confirm that you are of adequate legal age and capacity to enter into binding agreements such as these Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. The service requires that personal information such as name and valid email address be given to register for this Service. By confirming your registration, you agree to provide accurate and complete Registration Information.Player Name registration will be conducted on a first come basis. 4 Inactive Status
You must use your Player Name on a regular basis (e.g., log into a Urban Terror Registered Server) to keep your Player Name and registration active. Frozen Sand may cancel the registration and Player Name or data of any Urban Terror registered user who does not remain active for a period of one-hundred eighty (180) days or at its sole discretion. If your Player Name is canceled, you will need to re-register for the Urban Terror Accounts Service and obtain a Player Name to gain access to game servers using the server authentication service. If the Player Name that you previously used and which was canceled has not been taken by another registered user of Urban Terror Accounts you may re-register with your canceled Player Name. You agree that Frozen Sand may deactivate your registration if for any reason including those named above.5 Registered User Information
The Urban Terror Accounts Privacy Policy explains how Frozen Sand collects and uses information from its Registration and Authentication servers. You consent to Frozen Sand using your registration information and other information collected by Frozen Sand under the terms of the Urban Terror Accounts Privacy Policy. By registering with Urban Terror Account, you consent to the collection and use of your personal information and the transfer of this information to other Frozen Sand affiliates under the terms of the Urban Terror Accounts Privacy Policy.6 Your Responsibility
You are responsible for all activity made by you or anyone you allow to use your Urban Terror Account account, authentication key or other information with or without your express knowledge. You agree to keep confidential the passwords associated with your account. You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Frozen Sand for losses incurred by Frozen Sand or another party due to someone else using your account or password as a result of your failure to use reasonable care to keep your account information confidential or failure to use reasonable care while using Frozen Sand services. You are responsible for any materials you post or make available on or through Frozen Sand websites, including message board posts, chat participation and homepages.7 Communications
You may use Frozen Sand products and services for lawful purposes only. You may not post on or transmit through community areas (e.g., message boards, chat, e-mail, or instant messaging products) or other means any material that (1) violates or infringes in any way upon the rights of others, (2) is unlawful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, invasive of privacy or publicity rights, vulgar, obscene, profane, indecent or otherwise objectionable, (3) encourages conduct that would constitute a criminal offense, (4) gives rise to civil liability, (5) violates any policies posted in any community areas or (6) otherwise violates any law. You also may not undertake any conduct that, in Frozen Sand’s judgment, restricts or inhibits any other user from using or enjoying Urban Terror Account or Frozen Sand websites, including without limitation the community areas.8 No Spam, Bulk Email or Bulk Instant Messages
You may not use Frozen Sand’s product and services, including communication tools such as e-mail, instant messaging and chat services to send unsolicited bulk communications, including through e-mail or instant messages. Similarly, you may not authorize others to use your account. You may not harvest or collect information about Registered Users from Frozen Sand products and services, including player names to send unauthorized bulk or spam email or messages. Any violation of these provisions may result in immediate termination of your account and further legal action. You agree that Frozen Sand may take any legal and technical remedies to prevent any of the above from occurring.9 Content You May Use
You may use Content available on the Urban Terror or Frozen Sand websites only for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may be given the opportunity to download certain Content such as video, demos, and maps but you may do so only to the extent as authorized for that particular Content and only for your personal use. You may not use the Content in a manner that exceeds the rights granted for your use of the Content, which includes unauthorized copying or distribution of the Content or creating an unauthorized derivative work.10 Downloading Content
Frozen Sand provides users with software downloads and updates as well as recorded demos, videos, maps, calendars and other types of file content. You agree to download “at your own risk” and indemnify and hold harmless Frozen Sand, its subsidiaries, its affiliates, and their respective directors, officers, employees and agents from any legal action resulting from any damage caused as a result of a download.11 Content You Post to Public Areas
You may only post Content to public areas on Urban Terror or Frozen Sand websites pages that you created or which the owner of the Content has given you permission to post. You may not post or distribute Content to public areas on Urban Terror or to the Frozen Sand websites that is illegal or that violates these Terms of Service. By posting or submitting Content to public areas of Frozen Sand products and services, you represent and warrant that, (1) you own all the rights to this Content or are authorized to use and distribute this Content to public areas for Frozen Sand products and services use, (2) this Content does not and will not infringe any copyright or any other third-party right nor violate any applicable law or regulation.You or the owner of the Content retain ownership of all right, title and interest in Content that you post to public areas of any Frozen Sand product or service site. 12 No Duty to Monitor
Frozen Sand is not required to pre-screen Content available on the Urban Terror or Frozen Sand websites pages, including the content of any messaging that occurs on or through private messaging, although Frozen Sand reserves the right to do so in its sole discretion. Frozen Sand is not liable for Content that is provided by others. Frozen Sand reserves the right to remove Content that, in its sole judgment, does not meet its standards or does not comply with these Terms of Service, but Frozen Sand is not responsible for any failure or delay in removing such material.13 Changes to the Service
Frozen Sand has the right at any time to change, modify, add to, discontinue, or retire any aspect or feature of the Urban Terror or Frozen Sand products and services. Frozen Sand has no obligation to provide you with notice of any such changes.14 Frozen Sand License to You
Frozen Sand grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable limited license to use Urban Terror Accounts and Frozen Sand services distributed by Frozen Sand. You may not sub-license, or charge others to use or access Frozen Sand services without first obtaining written permission from Frozen Sand.You may not sell, assign, grant a security interest in or otherwise transfer any right of the Frozen Sand services or incorporate it (or any portion of it) into another product. 15 Restrictions on Access to or Use of Frozen Sand Products and Services
You may access Frozen Sand services only through the interfaces and protocols provided or authorized by Frozen Sand. You agree that you will not access Frozen Sand services through unauthorized means, such as unlicensed software clients, and that you will only use Frozen Sand services for lawful purposes.16 Support by Frozen Sand
You understand that your use of Frozen Sand services is at your own risk and that Frozen Sand provides assistance located at http://www.urbanterror.info. Frozen Sand is under no obligation to provide you with any error corrections, updates, upgrades, bug fixes and/or enhancements of Frozen Sand products and services.17 Copyright Infringement
If you believe that your work has been copied and is accessible through Frozen Sand products or services in a way that constitutes copyright infringement, please contact Frozen Sand staff immediately.18 No Endorsement
Frozen Sand Products and Services may contain links to other web sites, resources and advertisers. Frozen Sand is not responsible for the availability of these external sites nor does it endorse, or is it responsible for, the aesthetics, appeal, suitability to taste or subjective quality of informational content, advertising, products or other materials made available on or through such external sites. Under no circumstances shall Frozen Sand or any of the affiliated providers be held responsible or liable, directly or indirectly, for any loss or damage caused or alleged to have been caused to you in connection with the use of or reliance on any content, goods or services available on such external sites. You should direct any concerns to such external sites' administrator or Webmaster.19 Disclaimer of Warranties
Your use of Frozen Sand products and services is at your sole risk. Frozen Sand makes no warranties that the functions contained within Frozen Sand products or services will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that defect in the Frozen Sand service and software will be corrected.20 Limitation of Liability
Frozen Sand’s entire liability and your exclusion remedy with respect to any dispute with Frozen Sand (including Urban Terror Accounts or Frozen Sand products and services) is to discontinue your use of the Frozen Sand product or service. Frozen Sand shall not be liable for any indirect, special, incidental, consequential, or exemplary damage arising from your use of the Frozen Sand products and services. These exclusions for indirect, special, consequential or exemplary damages include, without limitation, damages for lost profits, lost data, loss of goodwill, work stoppage, computer failure or malfunction, or any other commercial damages or losses, even if Frozen Sand had been advised of the possibility thereof and regardless of the legal or equitable theory upon which claim is based.21 Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless Frozen Sand, its subsidiaries, its affiliates, and their respective directors, officers, employees and agents from and against all claims and expenses, including attorneys' fees, arising out of your use of the Frozen Sand products and services.22 Termination
Frozen Sand has the right to Terminate your Player Name, your registration, the service license or your access to Frozen Sand Products or services for any reason, including, without limitation, if it, in its sole discretion, considers your use to be unacceptable, or in the event of any breach by you of the Terms of Service (either directly or through breach of any other terms and conditions or operating rules applicable to you). Frozen Sand, transacts with its users electronically. When you sign up for any Frozen Sand product or service, you consent to receive electronically from Frozen Sand any privacy or other notices, agreements, disclosures, documents, communications, or other records (collectively, “Notices”). You agree that Frozen Sand generally can send you electronic Notices in either or both of the following ways: (1) to the e-mail address that you provided to Frozen Sand during registration or (2) Frozen Sand may post Notices on a welcome screen or on any relevant page for Frozen Sand services.
