After 3 weeks of initial layout, development and modification, the new Urban Terror Manual is ready to go live! Thanks to the help of RaideR from Clan |HSO| for hosting and troubleshooting, as well as Tidus for providing his time and content, the first version is now online and available.

While this just the first version, we will update the manual on a regular basis, as it will be a dynamic document from the standpoint of community involvement. While gamers will not be able to update any of the content, please feel free to read through, make suggestions and changes in this thread on the Urban Terror Forums.

In due time the manual will be moved to the Urban Terror site, but for now will continue to reside over at Clan |HSO|. Enjoy. Now "RTFM!"

The Urban Terror Spring 2008 Open Cup is upon us at Clanbase. This time around it will be 5v5 Team Survivor, but in order for the cup to start without a hitch Bluey needs you! As a Co-Supervisor for the Open Cup, she is looking for gamers who wanted to get involved and help as admins for the cup.

"Being an admin can take less than an hour a week just to admin one match. Even if you can only give us an hour of your time, every little bit helps to make the cup better and to give better coverage. If you have some time and would like to help us improve the quality of the cups," says Bluey.

So Urban Terror was not handed any awards in a recent mod of the year contest, nor was Urban Terror mentioned as one of the top 101 free mods in a recent gaming magazine article. Thankfully, Urban Terror has received a little snippet of press in the  April/May 2008 issue of Games for Windows magazine.

In January a post on the Urban Terror Forums titled, "a lil free PR" appeared thanks to impy, for emailing the editor of the Free Play column where Urban Terror appears. The write up is small, yet modest included is a shot of the level Elgin.

All the main features of the game get mentioned from the "John Woo style" of walljumping and powersliding to the "real-life weapons with recoil and increasing inaccuracy when fired...or moving." If you get the magazine or can get your hands on a copy, check out page 43, filed under "Reality Gets Bent."

From Hippie of the UAA: "March is here, And the Uaa is fast approaching a full year of confirming the cheats you've caught! Weve been threatening to let you, the public vote on these demos and the time is here. All demos submitted will still go thru our normal process of being confirmed by our well versed private members. After a few qualifying votes by them, they will be placed in a new queue and wait for your vote. You must first create a membership here at the Uaa, then your ready to go!" If you run/own a server and want to get involved with the UAA check out what they have to offer and the other community servers that use the services they provide. This makes for a more cheat free environment on servers for gamers to play on.

This year, instead of having a logo competition, I think it's about time that we made our own funky icons to spice up these News posts. As I have zero talent with graphics, and little to no artistic flare so I thought it would be best to ask you guys out there to invent and design some wonderful logos that we can use through not just this cup, but any future cups as well.

The usage of icons is not exhaustive, and doesn't need to stick to just those topics displayed as above. Use your creative talents to come up with other icons we could use for other types of topics, an example would be "Compeition time" which I would obviously use extensively! We could have icons to highlight our different game types used in our Cups, important news, rule changes, anything you can think of that would be fun, just do it! All submissions will be reviewed and posted (providing they are appropriate!)

Guidlines:

    * Submit any icons to Blu3ys-at-gmaildotcom with "Icons" in the topic

    * Use the Icons above as a guide for the size we are looking for - unless you think larger ones work better.

    * Icons must look good on both the Red and Blue colour schemes for ClanBase.

    * Relate the Icons to OUR wonderful, fabulous game where possible!

    * Icons will be used for future cups, make sure they aren't specific to certain cups.

After two weeks of an open call the new forum moderators were announced. This was open to any gamer in the Urban Terror Community who supported and played the game. While we had quite a few submissions via email, with many individuals qualified for the positions we decided on two new moderators for the time being.
