For those who don't know how to play PICKUP wars I'm now going to explain.
The first step is to download IRC
You can find it on: http://www.mirc.com/get.html
Follow the instructions for installing
When you have installed IRC open it.
Click on the icon Options (the icon with the red triangle around it on picture below)
Options window will open
If connect isn't open yet click on it then
Put in your nickname (see picture below)
Click on tab Servers
Server window will open now
Look for Quakenet and choose a server which is nearby were you live
Doubleclick on it and then click 'Connect' (it's the icon like a thunderlight, on the left of the option icon)
Now offcourse you wanna join a channel
Type the following lines in the chatbar at the bottom of your screen and Enter after typing the line:
/j ===E (enter)
You can always search for or find other channels but you can join them at the same way as you joined those channel i just gave you
Pickup wars are like normal wars only they don't count for the clanbase ladder but you can practice 5vs5 or 3vs3
When you're on channel you can add yourself to a pickup war by sending the following action on the chatbar type !add and enter, your name will be put in the list of people who added themselves also.
When the max of joining people has reached you will get a private message with the IP address and password of the pickup war which you signed up for. Two people will be captains they will choose one at the time who they want in there team till everyone has a group then war will start!
How to start a pickup war?
Open All-Seeing Eye and click on the icon 'New Server'
Put in the IP you got in private message
Make sure you use the right type of game: Quake 3:Arena
and click OK
Doubleclick on the server that you got
Open console and type /password (copy/past password you got) and enter
Type /reconnect and you will join the server to play the pickup war you signed up for.
For those who DONT use All-Seeing Eye
Open urt and open console (button under esc)
type /password (and put the password you got behind it with a space in between) and enter
type /connect server (and put IP address you got here also with a space between) and enter
Now you will enter the server and you can join the war.
