it's just unintuitive in the gameplay of urban terror. everyone's jumping about and the knife slow. a 'pro' player can't kill a good player with it in normal gameplay, he has to kill a very noob player. unless very rarely he gets very lucky or tries it for the laugh. being faster would put the throwing knife in the leagues!

Indeed.

I like the idea of knives but why not make every weapon have a melee attack (like halo)?  In real life you can use the butt of a rifle or a pistol as a very effective weapon.

that'd need lots of animation upgrades and the dev team have said they are in shortage.

That is unfortunate

Especially, cause I don't draw my gun and couldn't care less about 2D animations

my suggestions
knives should cause bleed out, and you cant bandage yourself when hit by them.
throwing knives should be infinite (by making them into a boomerang?)

but i'm not fussed if they change or not.

A knife belt with extra knifes as item would be nice if they do beef up the throwing knife speed and damage. If would be also nice if you can pick up your knife again after killing someone with it with throwing. Now the knife just disappears into /dev/null.

Yea, I always liked that... but Halo's gameplay is WAY different. Melee attacks in Halo are a crucial part of the game, I don't think they'd really fit in with UrT... mostly because you don't have to shoot someone a billion times to kill them, and there's no recharging shield. In Halo, the basic strategy for autos is: Charge at the person firing wildly and time it so that you melee him before he melee's you.
