I need help i was sorting my revolution and i put it to high and i pressed apply and now i can't get back on i tried everything even trying to reinstall please help me!

since you have problems like that, then I'm pretty certain, that you're using windows vista or 7.

the thing is, that all your settings is saved in the file called "q3config.cfg", but bcs Vista and 7 doesn't like that the game changes its files, then it gets a new folder.

So enough "why" ... now some "how"

• press "Ctrl + r" to get the "Run" windows
  
• Write "%Appdata%" (without the "")
  
• Go up one folder (aka. go into the Appdata folder)
  
• go into the Local folder
  
• go into the VirtualStore folder
  
• go into the Program Files folder
  
• Go into the Urban Terror folder
  
• Go into the q3ut4 folder
  
• delete the "q3config.cfg" file

I got that path from the docs, I can't confirm it myself, since I'm using Mitsu's build, since it's saving it somewhere else
(c:/Users/YourName/Appdata/Roaming/Quake3/q3ut4

I did this steps how ever i clcik on urban terror and it says can not upload default cfg ?

Btw im running window xp i re downloaded 4.1.1 but i think i was on 4.1 how ever i can't find that one so installed 4.1.1

have you tried to reinstall it through the .zip version? The "Can't load default.cfg" means that some .pk3 files are missing. (If I'm right)

The zip version just works for everyone ... so if that one doesn't work ... then you're screwed

When urban terro says it cannot load default.cfg it means that 1 of the zpak.pk3 files has been deleted. This is what I would do if i were you. In these exact steps.

1. go to your urban terror folder save any maps, demos, and screen shots you want to keep
- create a new folder on your desktop or somewhere you can easily find it
2. go to your hidden directory for urban terror and save any maps, screen shots, and demos you want to keep
- add these to the folder you created in step one
3. completely delete the rest of your Urban terror folder
4. Run the installer you previously downloaded or download it from here
5. install the game
6. place all your saved maps, demos, and screen shots into the fresh install folder.
7. Run the game, set your controls and binds like usual (but be careful not to change the resolution to something that is too high)


Now you should be able to play just like usual.

Also - 4.1.1 once the .exe file has been opened it is like a fresh install of 4.1 with better textures. It contains all the needed files and runs just like normal.
