seta r_customheight 720
seta r_ext_compressed_textures 1
seta r_gamma 1.2
seta cg_gunsize 1
seta cg_fov 100
seta r_mode -1
seta r_depthbits 32
seta r_swapinterval 1
seta r_finish 1
that should get quite nice smooth urt experience (it did on my macbook pro).
Then there's the catch with macbook pro's that have 2 video cards (which I didn't realise). You have to use the power setting thing to set your graphics card to better performance (specifically video) or you will end up using the 9400M card instead of the 9600 GT (which runs the game perfectly on 1440x900 resolutions and the like).
But my said settings run it smoothly on a 9400M.
PS you might wanna add
seta m_filter 0
to the above or you won't like your mouse response

Hey can you elaborate on how I can go about tweaking my MBP to account for this problem? Settings and such?

Sure, just open up power management and select the better performance option under graphics (top of the window). Then set the following:
seta r_mode -1
seta r_customwidth 1440
seta r_customheight 900
seta r_picmip 0
seta r_swapinterval 1
seta m_filter 0
seta com_maxfps 61
seta cl_maxpackets 30

I'm on OSX 10.4, if thats an issue here...
thanks for the cvars though, will use them for sure.
It's only the newer macbook pro's that have 2 video cards. The older ones always use the good video card.

Maybe one last detail (but a huge difference in-game) is that you have to
set r_finish 1
if you are going to be using r_swapinterval 1
or the mouse will be laggy as hell.
