Heavy Web Overhaul in the books

You may have noticed that the forum has been in BETA for a while now. Well, in a bit we'll discover it's finished!! Then the inevitable will happen and we'll decide to hit the launch button.
To cut to the chase, it means that at some point in the coming weeks this site will go into Transformer-mode as can be seen in the preview below:
Don't worry, you will notice when it happens as you will be asked to re-register when the overhaul has been completed.
Please make sure to register with the same e-mail address, it makes merging of your 'current' and 'new' account easier.
NB: If you are currently using an hotmail e-mail address, we have to recommend that you change it to something else, like gmail because Hotmail blocks a lot of our registration e-mails.

The update looks good. Looking forward to checking out what extra goodies you guys are rolling out with the system.
2 quick things that might help you out (you can delete/edit this post if you guys want)
1st thing: Your email might be getting blocked from hotmail because of your DNS or authentication settings. Just looking at the message headers from an email I got from you guys:
Received-SPF: neutral (google.com: 74.53.204.82 is neither permitted nor denied by best guess record for domain of apache@box1.fsk405.org) client-ip=74.53.204.82;
Authentication-Results: mx.google.com; spf=neutral (google.com: 74.53.204.82 is neither permitted nor denied by best guess record for domain of apache@box1.fsk405.org) smtp.mail=apache@box1.fsk405.org
I checked the IPs and they seem to be off all the major lists, so chances are DNS or something related is to blame (like that IP returning fsk405.org but the mailing address is @urbanterror.info). Hotmail is very picky with email. They normally check to make sure the rdns/ptr records and the domain match and other sorts of "fun" stuff. I'd ask ThePlanet to set your ptr record on that IP for mail.urbanterror.info or whatever you have it set to and see if that fixes your problems. I've had issues with that exact same thing before with customers, and I think that's how it was fixed.
2nd thing: You probably have already though about it, but you guys should really just write some sort of script to copy over the accounts from the old system to the new. Some information probably can't be copied over like passwords if they're stored differently, or you might need additional information. What you can do is just create tokens and a page that asks for the updated info. Email out a link with the token to the existing members, which can then click the link and update their info once. Something like this generally doesn't take long to code (an hour or two) and you'd be saving thousands of people from having to do it all over again and you guys the trouble of having to merge stuff after and worrying about if it all went ok.

They have PTR for 74.53.204.82 (52.cc.354a.static.theplanet.com.) but the reverse does not match the forward dns. They should ask FSK to ask theplanet to set ptr to box1.fsk405.org (or whatever the mailserver hostname is) and craft their spf accordingly. Wouldn't hurt to apply to hotmail/microsoft junk mail reporting program and have fsk>theplanet send microsoft notice that they're the sole owners of said ip to push it through. https://support.msn....s&wa=wsignin1.0

The Junk E-Mail Reporting Program (JMRP) is a free program intended to help large senders remove unwanted recipients from their e-mail lists. The goal of this program is to clean-up distribution lists so that users receive wanted e-mail and senders aren’t negatively affected by complaints.
Senders that sign up for this program will receive any e-mail that is reported as junk e-mail. Our hope is that senders will use this service to change their e-mailing practices to reduce junk e-mail reports and remove recipients who do not welcome such contact from their e-mailing list. Failure to reduce junk e-mail reporting incidents will result in a sender's removal from the program and could also impact a sender’s deliverability.

There's still just one thing that bugs the heck outta me with the new forums. No user/pass login on the main forum page. My cookies etc are deleted when my browser is closed, standard security. It's annoying to have to go through the sign-in "process" each time, instead of using the browser password manager to click-and-done login, with no LOGIN SUCCESS page.
Other than that daily annoyance, the new forums turned out well.
