Hi guys,
I have a strange problem:
When i load UT 4.1 i can refesh my server list but nothing comes up it just cant connect to the master server.
Also tried the quake3 server nothing happens.
Flushed my firewall
reinstalled UT and even put back a working copy then from my time machine.
I use snow leopard on a Macbook pro latest 15 inch 2.8ghz
Killed all that is not relevant
All works dns / internet etc etc etc
Only server listing.
I can connect using console with /connect ipofserver
Any ideas ?

Here's a suggestion. I know it's a bit of an obvious thing but take a look at the bottom of the server list (or better said where it's supposed to be) and make sure punkbuster and guids options are turned off.
Good idea but i tried this
even setting to defaults doesn't work.
Does anybody know what resources it uses from OSX itself ?
even at startup all seems to be ok when u open the console.
on another macbook all works fine with the same settings very strange...

ok, suggestion 1:
I don't know maybe max ping is set to 0 by mistake and it doesn't shows any servers, try setting it manually to 800.
suggestion 2. Make sure this is in your q3config file, thats the master server list on which the game connects on startup.
seta sv_master5 ""
seta sv_master4 "master.quake3arena.com"
seta sv_master3 "master2.urbanterror.net"
seta sv_master2 "master.urbanterror.net"
suggestion 3. I know you said firewall is down but recheck it (who knows perhaps the firewall needs to be UP for the game to work). I don't work much with macs, could it be it has some kind of security block running in the background not showing and you need to make an exception in it for UrT to run, maybe some kind of a backup security option cause the firewall is down.
Sorry for the lame joke i just couldn't resist.

Here's a tip for those of you that like to use the ingame browser, change seta cl_maxPing "800" to a lower value (I have mine set at 150) so you don't have to wait as long for the list to refresh. For you newbs out there, make sure the source is on internet instead of local.

You did turn off the buit-in MacOS X firewall?
Do you have LittleSnitch installed? If yes , you have to make a rule to "allow any connection" to ioUrbanTerror.app
Do you have a router, if yes try forward port 27960 UDP and keep OS X firewall shut
