Tags from clans added to username

First and foremost: yes, I'm asking. Yes, I came across this before. No, I can't find it again. =/

Now to the real questions.

So with being a member of a clan group, does the tag automatically get added to the front of the username? Or is there a way you have to manually set that? Any advice/help here is appreciated.
