Local server not showing up Rate Topic: -----

I used to play in urban terror long ago (version 2.6), yesterday I've updated him to the 3.7 (via downloading full version). I comletely reinstalled it, bit I have a strange problem.

Clients sitting in the same LAN cannot see my server in ingame browser.
If they type in the console "/connect 192.168.3.5:27961" (I have a native quake3 server on port 27960) - all is OK, but it's not comfortable. I understand, that I can create shortcuts with cmdline +connect 192.168.3.5:27960, but I want to ask- is there some way to make the ingame browser work ?

I tried to launch th game on ints default port- 27960- but that didn't help.

Thanks.

In order for the LAN viewer to work the server must be set to dedicated mode 1 (+set dedicated 1 from the command line). Also, clients must change their ingame browser to LAN mode. All computers (server and clients) must be within the same broadcast domain; for most people this means the same subnet. Your's is probably 192.168.3.0/24 (/24 is a network mask, translates to 255.255.255.0).

Well, they all are already in the same broadcast domain. Server is started with +set dedicated 1.

I started tcpdump on it. When somebody starts quake3, it usually queries all udp ports from 27960 to 27963. These packets are received by the server, but only an original quake3 server (from port 27960) answers to the query.

I tried to start server to listen on all the interfaces or to listen on one given interface (setting +set net_ip). That not helps. I tried also to erase all the default configs in ~/.q3a directory. No effect.

I haven't this trouble on 2.6.

I also searched this forum for similar problems and found nothing. Does it means that something is completely wrong in my server's setup, or it simply means that all are playing UT on WAN ? 8)

Any ideas ?

BTW, if I delete the default q3config.cfg - the game is visible in native q3 browser, but, in the same time, it's NOT visible in UT browser.

Mostly it's the sample config from the manual.

Hmm... Don't see anything out of the ordinary in the config. What about running Ethereal on the client boxes? What does it see as far as UDP traffic is concerned during server discovery?
