As he's on the phone right now, I'll steal his reply! Muhahahah
On Windows, you need to register a handler for a protocol type, q3ut3:// for example. illogical's got his registry file generator at http://master.urbant...r.net/files.php which can create the entries for you, along with a small launcher util.
Then you just make the q3ut3://YourServerIP:port/ link, and you're good.

OK. For us non computer geniuses who are just faking it. I got the Mountain Dew and hostess down, just not the whole write a program thing...This basically only works for your local computer. This does not enable your website to link your personal servers so that anyone with a quake enabled pc can click on it and play? <Unless of course they work for Microsoft or Oswald>Is that a stupid assumption based upon the raw data recieved by the feeble processor that is me. I may need a cpu upgrade in my head?!

Hehe, I think everyone gets the Mountain Dew and Hostess thing. Everything else, well... The links will only work for people who have some application to handle them. I have on the site a program and registry file generator to handle the Urban Terror links, as well as a script which was given to me for Linux users. If people click on your link and nothing happens, they don't anything to handle the link; just refer them to http://master.urbant...r.net/files.php

would you really want a website to launch a local application?
