my g36, and only the g36, changed it's color from the regular one to a rather grey/brown one
what could have caused it? it's not that i have any problem on what color my g36 would be (as long as it shoots...) but i found it rather strange for it to change color. (strange enough to doubt my own memory and start rechecking on what the original color was - it was black wasn't it??)

This will happen when the server has the same faulty pk3 that you have in your q3ut4 directory.
When you start a server it would always have the color from the faulty map.

every .pk3 has following Requirements to load:
1. It Should be in the Client q3ut4 folder.
2. It should be in the Server q3ut4 folder.
3. If on server "pure" is 1, then 1 and 2 have to be true and the same File (not only the Name)
4. If on server "pure" is 0, then just the Client needs to have it to modify the Game.
That is why you ever should move out all .pk3 's (exept zpak000.pk3 and zpak000_assets.pk3) once you see a Mistake in some maps/models/sounds/whatever.
Then you should move them step by step into the q3ut4 folder again.
First try your most played maps (some like tohunga, Facade, serious Jumpmaps and some other FragMaps like Orbital or whatever)
The best Solution for LAN Gaming or Servers is a FRESH Install or UrT.
That is what i have done on my PC to play at home (with my little bro).
I did set up a complete directory of maps (/media/mydrive/Urban_Terror/q3ut4/) which is linked with my /var/www/v3n/q3ut4/ dir for Autodownload (and it works wonderful)
And then there is a Complete Server Directory (/media/mydrive/urbanterror/ with /lanserver/ & /pubserver/ & /modding/)
If you are on Linux you have to care of your /home/youruser/.q3a/q3ut4/ dir which does take your downloaded Maps.
On Windows there is the Same with C:/Documents and Settings/youruser/Application Data/Quake3/q3ut4/ directory.
That Maps which you autodownloaded can be "used" in server too. Move them to your AllMapsDir and only take the Maps you want (and which are clean) into your gaming Directory and your Server Directory.
