1. Slide down ladder clip.

That would be nice if kept at constant slide speed rather than accelerating all the way.

A small acceleration on the beginning with a final constant speed sounds good to me.

2. Ladder to ladder jumps.

This is really messy, don't have an opinion as yet

It's not really messy it allows you only to grab the ladder on the other side instead of falling down on it but the way to do it is messy eventual there is a better way jump + direction key or something and jumpers love messy things. :-)

3. wallslide downwards.

i can see this getting abused and breaking maps gameplay. clever mappers already have tools available to them to create mini safe slides to compensate falling from heights.

Yes, it's already possible with cushion clipping but it would feel better with a sliding sound and a way to jump off from the slide.

Indeed there is a chance of breaking map gameplay and access areas where you normally would lemming but the same was with including walljumps.

In the past it was voted down from QA see here

4. powerslide over water.

that's a nice idea, so i presume you'd fall into the water if you uncrouched even if you were going fast enough to go over it?

Yes, only Jesus can go over water cool ppl slide over it. :D

5. Sliding rails with hands.

not the biggest fan of this idea... but i suppose it could work well in certain maps.

It would give mappers a new toy should work good in big/open maps but thats only a minority.

In Unreal Tournemant 99 (damn I must have mentioning this game in every post...) you can dodge, it´s fast side-flip.

This is the best manoveur in UT99 to avoid being hit.

Someone in this forum has also spoken in side-walking in the walls, there was a MOD of Half-life called The Specialists (i think...) with that ability.

The Specialists was a Matrix to the Half-life.

F1, except the water slide because that COULD slow gameplay down: If I quickly want to slide in the water of Eagle for cover, I don´t want to slide on the water for 1 or 2 seconds which can result in my death.

you could still jump in the water or stop the powerslide when you would reach the water.

One thing I always tried to do without success is to slide, jump and continue the slide. It works, but the speed loss is so high that it practically ends the slide. No idea if that would be a good suggestion, but fits advanced player movements imho.

Without loosing so much speed that further sliding is practically at the end? As I said, it works, but you loss totally on speed, no?

slide->jump->slide

I can do this with ease and still have plenty of speed on the slides
