firewall blocking access to game servers

I'm on Arch 1686 and using the Guarddog firewall.

My problem is what protocols/services need to be open
in order to be able to get/access game servers ??

I assume you mean here that you simply want to join a gameserver. Guarddog is a what it seems to be a gui to generate iptables rulesets. Just make sure you have the connection tracking enabled and all should be fine.
