A betting system has been added to the competition module, allowing you to gamble virtual money on the outcome of matches. You start with a balance of $100 and can bet any amount up to that on any team in any yet to be played match.

The odds for each match are calculated based on how much money has been bet on each team, so if, for example, you bet $10 on Team A in a match and 2 other people bet $10 on Team B the odds will be 2:1 in favour of Team B and you'll win $20 if Team A wins the match.

If you bet on the losing team you lose your stake.

You can only bet up to the balance of your account, but the more you win the more your balance increases and the more you can bet!

Once your balance falls below $100, and all outstanding bets are processed (i.e. all matches you've bet on have been played) we'll give you another $100 to get you back on your feet, because we're such nice people here at UZ.

Please report any issues with the system and any suggestions for improvements in the forums.

update: Wins and balances were not calculated correctly, so a small update has been applied to correct this. For most of you your balance has been reduced, but it should now be correct.
