Nickname problem

Hi, i wanna register one my nickname as Sawyer (or s4wy3r etc) but it says it's not possible because The nickname $awy3r is already used by Y3ye. It's not the same nickname! It's a problem that will be fixed or i have to change my nickname?
Another question: after i've registered 3 nicknames can i delete one and then register a new nickname?
