Can't Connect to servers or use in-game browser Rate Topic:

Now its been a while since I played Urban Terror, but recently I updated my Urban Terror client to 3.7 and tried to connect to some servers.

First Issue
I can no longer use the game-browser to find or join servers. I am told there is "No server list from master Server"

Second Issue
Then I tried to download a game browser like game ranger and Only Mortal and when I join a game using one of those I get stuck at the "awaiting challenge" screen in Quake3. When I look in the console i got the following info:

^5PunkBuster Client: Not Connected to a Server

Anyone know whats up and how I can fix this?

Everything from the console looks great. I'm curious, do other Q3 mods work? Or even base Q3?

Do you have punkbuster inastalled? If you do, type /pb_cl_enable in the console.

I tried enabling Punkbuster using the methods you mentioned - issue remains.

- I don't really play any other Quake3 Mods, but when trying to play Q3Arena It gave me a list but still stuck in the same place with the same messages in the console..

Any other suggestions?

I just reinstalled from scratch using the latest point release [and also copied all relevant UT / reinstalled Punkbuster... I can now see the in-game browser but I get the same thing when trying to connect to a browser.

The console now says:

authorize.quake3arena.com resolved to 192.246.40.56:27952
^5PunkBuster Client: Connected to Server 24.109.1.162:27960
^5PunkBuster Client: Master Query Sent to (Q3A1.EVENBALANCE.COM) 216.40.230.37

Hm, I misread. You had the client enabled. Hangover does that to me.

I got no clue atm, sry.

Hmm... It almost sounds like a firewall issue, but then again, it doesn't. So try this... If you have an anti-virus program running, stop it. If you use a software based firewall (like the one that comes with Windows or from Norton), turn it off. Try connecting then. Please let us know if you use a hardware firewall/router.

your seeing the wonderful punkbuster bug in .994 version of PB

trash all your pb folders

use this pb installer to get around that part AND update your punk buster useing the PBweb app

Run the PB fix installer launch Q3/UrT3 and reenable PB ( in the console type"/PB_CL_ENABLE" ( without the "") quit Q3/UrT3

Then Place the PBweb.app in the PB users folder ( /Users/**YOUR USER NAME**/Library/Application Support/Q3/pb/ ) and run it . this may take a bit to run .

Then Relaunch Q3/UrT3 and you should be able to connect to a server and play.

I'm 90% sure this is your issue if not .. I'll be out of town and computerless for the next 4 days . get back to you after that !

Thanks for the help. Unfortunately I still cannot play - I have a mac and dont have any virus software enabled, but I did turn off the built in Firewall.

Hornet - I did the exact steps you recommended and it still gets stuck while awaiting to connect [and in-game browser stopped working]
