Default setting for mouse polling rate on Ubuntu is 125 Hz. Most modern gamer mouse can have higher values like 500 or 1000 Hz.
As described in this tread: http://ubuntuforums....ad.php?t=392494 you can change your polling rate by editing of /etc/modules:
Using console, open /etc/modules in editor with admin rights:
sudo gedit /etc/modules
Ad this two lines at the end:
-r usbhid
usbhid mousepoll=x
value "x" can be:
1 = 1000Hz
2 = 500Hz
4 = 250Hz
8 = 125Hz
10 = 100Hz (Default)
for example, to change polling rate to 500Hz, end lines in /etc/modules schould be:
-r usbhid
usbhid mousepoll=2
Save it and reboot.
To check change, type in console:
cat /sys/module/usbhid/parameters/mousepoll
x
"x" output should be the value you just added in /etc/modules.
For example above (500Hz):
cat /sys/module/usbhid/parameters/mousepoll
2
Warning: change polling rate only if you know that you mice supports higher values!
Other issue can be higher CPU usage.
