You can try setting affinity to 1 core.

So you think that playing with 1 core on 100 % usage is better to play with 2 cores of 50 % usage on each?

UrT can't utilize the second core, so it gets in the way and can cause FPS drops. Maybe it's causing those black lines.

Hm okay. Do you have any idea how to disable 1 core on mac? I know its possible with "CPUPalette" but to get it you have to install about 3 GB extra stuff (XCode) which I'd like to avoid.

According to this thread,it's the opposite for macs. Can anyone verify this?

r_smp enables both your cores. Urt uses about 40 percent cpu usage normallyy. With r_smp 1 it uses both cores which makes urt run at like 80-90 % cpu usage... so you can only think how much it helps
only error is sometimes you load the map and its all white, just /vid_restart and you're fine. ( for mac at least )!

Didn't work really. After playing with the variable r_smp "1" I felt like having lower fps than before.
Also I had this freeze again after like 9 minutes of playing and again after 11 minutes.

I made 2 screenshots of my CPU, one with r_smp set to 1 and one with r_smp set to 0. I can see that both CPU cores where used during the game.

Now I don't get black lines but still huge gaps.

Found this explanation of the gaps I get -> http://www.www0.org/...color_at_all.29

Leaves me with the question: How can I fix it? I'm running voidref's optimized .app for Mac which is kinda equal to mitsu's build.

Check your background processes, see if something is stealing the CPU or maybe something excessively using the drive.

If you have multiple partitions or more than 1 HDD (external works just fine too) try installing on that drive or partition. You can even try running UrT from a USB disk.

I got one external HDD splitted into 2 partitions connected via USB 2.0 to my computer.
Just to make everything clear: You think installing UrT on my external HDD will solve my freeze? Sorry but I can't believe that :)
Gonna try it anyway :D

Maybe it's my Time Machine which makes a backup of my internal HDD every hour?
