Hi.

I bought a new computer few weeks ago and have big problems with FPS in my UrT on Windows 7 Enterprise x86. On many maps i have FPS from 25 to 45 (of course in open field with another players there), what makes my game really hard to play and enjoy.

Here are my computer specifications:

Quote

Display
Diagonal Size : 15.6"
Max Resolution : 1366 x 768
Technology : TFT LCD display
Color : up to 16.7 million colors

Processor (CPU)
Type : Intel® Core™ i5-430M
Speed : 2.26GHz
Cache : 3MB Intel® Smart Cache

Chipset
Mobile Intel® HM55 Express chipset

Memory
2GB (1 x 1GB) DDR3 1066 SDRAM
Total slots : 2

Graphics Card
Integrated Intel® HD Graphics

Hard Drive
320GB SATA 5400rpm

I have checked drivers to processor and graphics card and they are up to date.

Is my computer too bad for Win7 and UrT working together properly?
Is a there problem with hard drive with 5400rpm?

I don't know if newer intel GPUs are any good but i had one in a laptop and it worked like crap. I was barely able to run Syberia 2.

Lower your screen resolutions (800x600 or 1024x768), use 16-bits color & texture depth. Additionally turn off blood and brass.

Intel integrated graphics, aka GMA or HD graphics, is not very powerful. They are more or less comparable with the lowest NVIDIA or ATI/AMD graphics products; minus the ability to use full-screen or multi-sample anti-aliasing(FSAA or MSAA).

Also - check frequency of CPU. Multi-core processors like to change frequency based on threshold. Launch game and monitor frequency - if CPU goes "step up".

Also - Quake3 engine can't go in multi-thread mode - so it's always using one core - make sure its freq is maximum during playing. I have AMD 2x1600 Mhz (2x800 Mhz in lower usage, based on 50% cpu usage threshold - Linux rules) - so UrT have in fact 1600 Mhz at disposal.
