I have played on servers where you never seem to "tire." By that I mean when you run a long time, normally you get tired and there is a display that shows you . I don't know how to describe it but when you are "tired" you can't jump far. By waiting a short time and letting the display return to normal you can do things fast again.

Is there a setting where I can set this longer, or eliminate the "tiring" altogether?

those servers are modded servers and should have the word "[MOD]" in the hostname, it's not a setting that you can change with the default installation
