Does anyone know a way to create a perl script/php/etc to embed in a web page to poll the status of a server?
I figured out how to get a good stats page (Unistats) working properly, but would also like to place a link on my site to let visitors see the current players, map, score, and any other useful info.
Thanks in advance for any ideas,
Langly

I have a PHP script I wrote a while back that seems to be useful. You can see it in action @ http://www.you-are-terminated.com/. Let me know if you'd like it.

have u ever hear of qstat, Langly? i dont know if its avail for windows as well, but i guess it is. its a tool to query q3 servers (and many more). it is rather easy to use it from within a perl script, but i would not query your server everytime some1 requests a webpage.

Thanks illogical for the PHP, although I couldn't get it to work after playing with it a few minutes... got this error:
Warning: socket_bind() unable to bind address [99]: Cannot assign requested address in /scic101x/www/html/sinfo/serverinfo2.php on line 52
Warning: socket_sendto() Host lookup failed [-10004]: No address associated with name in /scic101x/www/html/sinfo/serverinfo2.php on line 183
I don't know much about sockets and php, so got a little stuck there.
HOWEVER, I did get plgstats (http://balgo.net/) to work quite well...took me about 2 minutes total...just had to make sure the file was in cgi-bin. Thanks Aarsbuds0r!
The only thing that isn't quite right is that the IP listed is the LAN-side address, but if I put langly.dyndns.org as the host it finds the server but doesn't show it as an IP address on the page. (Oh well, it gets the job done though
Thanks again everyone!

@Langly:
1. I'll fix the ip variable from plgstats, sorry. You can also set the colors of table and main background.
2. Your unistats engine and webinterface is very old, use the new version 0.1.5 interface / 0.1.3 engine. Check http://balgo.net for sourceforge.net link to the new files.

Thanks balgo!
I'll make the changes this weekend hopefully. I got UniStats to work a while ago, and at the time was more concerned about getting it to work than making sure it was the most current version
Yes, it would be convenient to have the plgstats resolve the host name to IP in the interface. Granted it's functional with the host name, but would be more beneficial to see the IP.

Ok, check http://balgo.net for new plgstats 0.3.3. I've also fixed your ip / hostname problem. Please test the new version.
