I would LOVE to see an option where we can all Like or Dislike a specific post without having to post. The benefit for users would be a quick interface to utilize without having to spend valuable time posting "I agree" or "I disagree" and following comments etc.

The benefit for FS would be SMALLER db's and faster write/read times. I'm POSITIVE this will decrease the db by AT LEAST 1GB/year .. But that's just my opinion :D

Not to mention, it would just be ... cool :D

the database hasnt reached even 1gb yet :P but yeah it would be nice if a lot of people disliked a post then x amount of thumbs down could trigger hidding the post and warn users that the post was hiding and they would need to click a show button to see what was said.

Welll.. I don't think hiding is a great idea.. Censorship should be left to FS appointed board staff (This includes yourself).. Not by some silly voting ring. I'm only recommending such a feature because of the above reasons... Nothing more or less. FS are the ONLY ones that should determine a posts validity .. not a script.. No matter how refined, script will NEVER have the human touch..

I think it's not a good idea..., making you post to say "i agree" or "i disagree" implies that you should explain why you agree or not with something... and something like that would just feed the trolls, plus, you can rate topics which i think is more than enough for the purpose.

What i would really like is an option in my profile to hide the posts done by some people in the same way you can block private messages from certain users.

There are a lot of trolls in this forums, users with +100 post all of them trolling and harassing other people, so allowing it or not is mater of FS politics on their own forums, but i would like an option to at least not have to read them.

Nde: If you base good or bad posts and topics in anonymous +/- UrT would have iron sight since 2.3 .

Something like the Karma system (the ability to thank/smite a post, or some other phrasing) does sound useful

BRAVO does have a point about the mass voting though

You already can do it — the first thing on your Ignored users page should be a nice friendly form with “Ignore Posts” already ticked.

Karma is already enabled. I'm still sticking with my +1 / -1 per post idea :D
