I looked at the minimum requirement on the bottom of the box and it(Q3 box) says OS 9.0.4 or higher (except OSX). Then is see on planetquake3.net that there is the point release for v1.32 on OSX. WTF?!! Does it work on OSX?

Yes - infact 1.32 that's needed for UrT is only working in OSX.
All you need from the CD is the basic pak0.pk3 and the CDkey. You can even grab those from a Windows CD. The application and the remaining .pk3 files you get in the 1.32 package.

yup works fine on os x using the windows pak0 file
