Needing help with my server

I have 2 questions:
Do I need to port-forward the server to make it public? If so how would I do that.
If I use an IP finder such as whatismyip.com, will that be the IP people would need to connect to?

normally yes. Ext. IP and port (usually 27960)

If you find the need to ask these kind of questions you might want to reconsider hosting a server, especially from home as they are not officially supported by frozen sands, and can lead to many problems such as high bandwidth bills, internet throttling or blocking due to not following TOS / T&C's or even just bad experience for other players.
