And so for once I am happy to be on a WIN Server. ;)
That doesn't change anything else I said above. No offense.

All I hear is crap crap crap... That's the only point in your arguments? They does not get money for their work?
Sorry mate this is the worst reason ever for release a buggy Version!!!
We don't force them to release as soon as possible. For me it could take 1 or 2 weeks longer if the releases would work better, they have not to be perfect for sure, but it should possible to update without warning and running servers without crashes every 2-8 Minutes. Cause that would mean... This release wasn't testet for more then a few minutes on Linux Servers (1 Day of testing should be the minimum, to release what the usually call stable Beta Version).
Edit: I totaly agree with ItsMe.

Hi all,
I appretiate all the hard work that FrozenSands does, and at no point want them to slow down their advancement to the game. Being that this game probably has way more Linux based servers out there, I do aggree that a little more testing is not a bad idea before any release. I am quite happy with the 006 release (from an admin standpoint). I do however have a lot of friends that want to pick up the game and start playing it again, but when they ask me about downloading the game...they seem to have only the choice of 007. From the client side, will they be able to connect to a 006 server? If not, I still think the download links should allow 006 version, as its the only real stable server build out currently. (Linux servers i mean, as i try to stay away from MS whenever I can)
imho,
GUTS

OK, if its crashing im not going anywhere near it......006 is perfeclty stable and running good. I'll just hangout with this version until something stable comes out.
If its a known problem, why do we still continue to release it? Should not the client download links still offer the last version, the one that does not crash? (006)

We of course do test before release and it's just as frustrating for us as the current crashing problem seems to be unique to curtain conditions which we are having a bit of a time isolating.
Preliminary testing seems to indicate that a particular distro of Linux has problems with the mesh density of the hitmesh when the player is attacked with the SPAS.
When reporting please state what version of Linux is being used, the bit version, and if possible what weapon was being used at the time of the crash.

Updated no now no servers display at all for me to connect to. I have to say after playing this game since 2002 i'm absolutely dissapointed, it seems 2.6a was thee last stable release put out. These 4.x version are really unstable, so much in fact that im close to dropping this game period.
