Hi guys, I'm starting to wonder if I'm having a blonde moment but how do I play the game on a mac?

Downloaded the Updater, all files downloaded - that should be fine

All I have in my directory which might be used to start the game is Quake3-Urt.exe but hey it's a Mac so that doesn't work.

Tried downloading the UrTLauncher.app separately from the site as a desperate attempt which was useless.

Am I missing something? How do I run the game please??

As a Windows user I haven't really looked at the mac client, but my Updater downloads these .zip files:

UrTLauncher.app.zip and Quake3-UrT.app.zip

Are those maybe what you're looking for?



P.S. Why are those downloaded in a .zip file anyway? (just curious)

Thanks for your reply. I have none of those 2 files and the updater says everything is in good order! :/

You can compair md5 checksums of the files to see if they are all without any errors.

davitucc: the updater is… uh… funny. If there’s no missing PK3s, it won’t even attempt to download the binaries. You’ll either have to delete a small PK3 and run the updater again to get the download going (I’d suggest zUrT42_qvm.pk3), or download the client directly.

I shall now pimp my article that contains links to all files, checksums, and explains a bit about MD5. (The official checksums are published at the bottom of the urtinfo downloads page.)
