on debian squeeze (Linux 32Bit) :

tobias@debian:~/UrbanTerror42$ chmod +x UrTUpdater.i386
tobias@debian:~/UrbanTerror42$ ./UrTUpdater.i386
Xlib: extension "RANDR" missing on display ":0.0".
./UrTUpdater.i386: symbol lookup error: ./UrTUpdater.i386: undefined symbol: _ZN9QListData11detach_growEPii
tobias@debian:~/UrbanTerror42$

i had the same error in all previous versions.
so i have to use the updater for servers instead on my desktop pc.

For me on linux it still doesn't work, the updater launches, I click download and then this error shows up (like it happened with the old updater):

Could not download the files. Please check your internet connection.
You can ask for help on the official website: www.urbanterror.info

This is on an old Mandriva 2010.1 install, I'll check on Mageia 2 and report back.

Hi,

Are you using a proxy, or sitting inside a corporate firewall?

Nope, this is at home with a cable connection, no proxy at all. The strange thing was that the first time I run the updater (before this new version) some of the pk3 files were downloaded and then an error about the connection appeared. After that, I never was able again to download anything, I thought that this new updater would improve things but it doesn't :(

Only other obvious thing I can think of is a permissions error on the folder. Can you double-check permissions on the files and sub-folders of your urbanterror42 directory.

I thought that too but the file zUrT42_0002.pk3 os created but 0 bytes length, so it isn't a file permission issue.

Doing an strace on the updater I see that it tries to connect to this address: 141.101.117.97

But if you open it on a browser you get an error from CloudFlare:

Quote

DNS Resolution Error

You've requested a page on a website (141.101.117.97) that is on the CloudFlare network. Unfortunately, CloudFlare is currently unable to resolve your requested domain (141.101.117.97). There are two potential causes of this:

Most likely: if the owner just signed up for CloudFlare it can take a few minutes for the website's information to be distributed to our global network. Check back in about 5 minutes and the site should be up and running and enjoying all the benefits of CloudFlare.

Less likely: something is wrong with this site's configuration. Usually this happens when accounts have been signed up with a partner organization (e.g., a hosting provider) and the provider's DNS fails.

So I suppose you are using CloudFlare CDN to deliver the download files ? if that's the case, maybe there's a problem with the server being assigned to me based on my geographical location, makes any sense ?
