With 4.2 slowly becoming the standard now seems like the best time to ask a question I've been wondering about for a long time.

I play on a widescreen 22" (iirc, could be an inch off either-way) monitor on 1920x1080 desktop resolution. However for as long as I can remember I've played Urban Terror at a 1280x1080 stretched. After asking a few clan mates they all noted that they ran UrT at 1920x1080, so I've recently switched to that resolution, but after many years of being stuck in my ways I'm finding it very difficult to get the right feel for the game again.

Does running a stretched 4:3 ratio on a widescreen monitor affect anything in terms of the way the game operates? Does anybody else play UrT with a stretched 4:3 resolution?

Haven't really been able to find much else addressing the topic.

You lose a shit ton of vertical FOV when switching to a 16:9 ratio, which makes moving around a real problem. If you have monitors that can be rotated 90º, try playing with a 9:16 ratio. You'll get all the vertical FOV you could ever need :D

Or if you're not already running at max cg_fov, you could increase that drastically and get your old vertical fov back and gain a ton of horizontal fov. Depends which you deem more useful ;)
