After I downloaded all the files i got this:
Posted Image

I tried to run Quake3UrT.i386, but the game just won't start.
Double-clicked on the icon, allowed to execute the file as a program, tried to run it with Midnight Commander( it gave us a message about a missing library- http://img153.images...terrorerror.png ), but nothing would work.

I also tried to run this and it didn't download it:
sudo apt-get install ia32-libs* lib32asound2

So what should I do?

My OS is Ubuntu 13.04 32bit

Just a hunch, but judging by the screenshot I'd say you have to install libSDL or sdl whatever it's called (use synaptic to find it).

Besides, you don't need to su to run urban terror.

I think in ubuntu it should work out of the box.

I use debian so let's try my "step by step" way to get it working.

It's your system i386 or x86_64?

Execute on terminal
uname -a
to see the system properties. If something like amd64 on kernel or x86_64 on processor appears your system is x64.

Open the gnome-terminal and move to the UrT folder. Alternative you can try right click on nautilus the folder to see if something like "open terminal here" appears.

Execute the following depending on your arch:
chmod +x Quake3-UrT.arch

Where arch can be x86_64 on x64 systems and i386 on x86 (32bits) systems.

then try running the file with

./Quake3.UrT.arch

If it fails leave here the terminal output.

If all goes well search for "menu" and add a new entry pointing the game. Search on the internet for a good icon and have fun ;)

I manage to start game via updater  .. but had problems with resolution .. after trying to change it in system-graphics I was out of the game and my resolution on screen was such I had to blindly guess where I'm clicking (mostly was pressing TAB + hitting ENTER randomly till I got it right!

my probs solved; http://www.urbanterr...rst-time-linux/

Compile from source. Here is the repo. https://github.com/B...r-UrbanTerror-4

Only takes a few minutes.
