Hello everybody,

after playing 4.2 on a pentium IV replacement computer without any problems, I installed 4.2 on my own computer these days.
But everytime I get hitten by another player the hitanimation (when my own gun moves up and down after getting shot) lags in a way that makes it impossible to aim.
With 4.1 there aren't any issues on this computer.

I tried a copy of the game from my old computer and a new download and ofc I tried with deletet cfg, too.
Anybody here who know how to fix that?

Best regards
Sven

A demo or video of this would be helpful.

Also, full machine specs would be good too (including os).

Remember that as the game gets improved, the performance on older hardware will be lower. The majority of p4 chips are more than 10 years old, not to mention that if you take into account degrading of the hard drive, corruption, fragmentation, it will affect the performance of the game too.

It feels the same to me when I'm using the stock client - but I also still get the stuttering and bleeding/blurry textures with stock as well though too. Figured it was related.

Hey thanks for ur replys!
Remember on the Pentium IV it worked well with an Geforce4 MX460 wirth 64mb memory.
The issues are on my maincomputer, specs below.

Video
I tried to show it to you and the german community forum on video but after creating the avi-file the lags are gone. Even on slowmotion there no of these hard lags visible. >>Video

Computer
OS: Win XP Pro SP3
Mainboard: Asus M2V
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 5200B (2x2.7ghz)
VGA: HIS HD 4670 (also tried XFX HD 6870)
RAM: 4GB DDR2-800

Map-specific?
I played an pcw and on orbital and these issues didnt exist. So I tested some other maps and the hardest kind of lags are only on dust2_v2. On this map are even the animations on the bombspots lagging. Never had problems with dust before, but seemes like I have to deal wtih it=)

Not quite sure what your talking about here. Are you referencing the kick-up from the gun that second time? Or am I missing something completely.

Im referencing on sth that cannot be seen in the video. Cause that happens only ingame, not recorded as avi.
When you get a hit or losing blood ur player makes a "oooh" sound and the weapon moves up. Only this move laggs as hell in a way that i cannot further aim.

When he got shot his fps halved, and if he's being hit multiple times it would be hard to aim with the fps dropping on each hit.

Svenson - try lowering your quality settings and/or resolution or turning off the bleeding effects to see if it helps any.
