Black/dark textures Rate Topic: -----

Almost everything is black except text and HUD elements. This includes the log-in/join server screens, text is visible but pictures are not.

Running 4.2.013 on Debian (Jessie).

It was running fine earlier today. I believe the problems only started after an upgrade to mesa (Mesa 9.1.4). Might that be the problem? Do I have to roll it back to find out?

Any help is appreciated.

Do other OpenGL programs have similar issues? If so its a safe bet its your system.

Tried a few programs from this list:

0ad, xonotic, and blender all seem to work fine.

Okay the problem seems to be with compressed textures. When I go into system settings and change them to uncompressed, the problem goes away. But compressed textures are not working for me.
