Ever since.....actually, its never worked for me. When hosting games (non dedicated, pureserver) at my LAN party, autodownload never works.

I haven't tried it in all game types, but I know for sure in TS. Other people without the map get an error saying map cannot be found, and doesn't even try downloading. We then have to quit the game, someone has to share the map, copy and distribute. Then we can go back to playing, its a real pain in the ass.

Is this a bug, or is there something I'm doing wrong?

Also, on a side note, I get a "hunk mal_oc" error (or something like that). I know there is a way to change the settings, but I don't remember how or what the command is.

For autodownload server has to set: "sv_allowdownload 1" and clients "cl_allowdownload 1".. it goes very slow though. It would be better just to share all your maps and let everyone download.

About the hunkalloc... Try doing making /com_hunkmegs higher...

So is this a quake 3 problem, or will it carry over to ET?

In ET I've seen some very nice auto-downloading stuff. Instead of downloading from server, it automaticly will download from an external (much faster) server or smt. Very cool. Hope that works for Urt too... We'll see

I dont think it was really intended to download maps that were 5-10MBs in size...hopefully we leave this feature out of ET.

Oswald, there is smt else in ET... a serveradmin can set a link to a site or smt... and then you auto-download the map from there. It works realy great. Could set it to urbanbase.net for eg :D

You have a password I gues =] I dunno realy how it works. I just know that I connected an ET-game first time and it started downloading all sorts of stuff real quick so I had every I needed to play. Worked realy well.
