updater failed 5-6? times. when it's downloading it keeps jumping to next file when at only 28-29% on 3 files, on the third it pops an error message box.
urt still works and showing 4.2.015 at bottom right, it even gave me a welcome back message. but only 2 servers out of 630 showed up in list.
is it done but with wrong message box?

Assuming that the updater is failing, I would go to http://www.urbanterror.info/downloads/ and get the update 14 > 15 package for linux. Move everything into the right location, set the new executable permissions for the client(s) and hopefully it should work.

Otherwise I would look at the settings on the in-game browser.

Should FS attempt to build an Updater.exe that only uses native built-in libraries?

Windows 7 is the majority OS I believe. So it seems that this is both a high priority and a high severity bug for the current Updater. I've worked in QA for 7 years and I'd file it under Showstopper.

I think this can be solved with a download manager. There are a few available for Linux but I've not had to use one before so I can't recommend any. A search on 'download manager linux' will find you some, and you might also find some with

sudo apt-cache search download manager

if you have the Universe repository enabled. I saw kget, uget, multiget, fatrat, extplorer and steadyflow in the results if you don't want to enable Universe.

Oh and I guess I should have mentioned this, but try the mirrors if you haven't already. This issue might be specific to this site (the first link).

i downloaded the 1.6gb zip file without any problems using firefox default downloader. i dont think a download manager could help the urt updater.

No, it wouldn't. I was recommending that for files downloaded from the site directly such as the .zip for 14 to 15. Problem solved though.
