Clan Name: Team Valiance
Clan Tag: v`
Example: v`tehwally

Right now the clan-tag has to be 3 characters or more and as you can see our tag is only 2 characters long, is there any way our tag can be changed to "v`" via Admin or something?

It would be nice, because we would like to use our original clan tag instead of making a new one.

two characters would lead to far too many false positives in detecting clan tags with regular expression.

an example: clan tag: KN
player joins with name KNIGHT-RIDER. player is kicked for tag theft.

That's why you still have to have a special character for a clan tag.

if we use special chars its the same (especially if we add suffix support)

like clan tag: n'

player name: jumpin'


Three characters allows us to tell when tag finishes. like |P| we can tell it starts with | and ends with | so as long as the text in between matches we're good - or even KN| - now player KNIGHT RIDER can join just fine.

So clans that were around long before this tag protection have to change their face to adhere to a policy that isn't even clearly stated? That's kind of ridiculous, imo.
