I experienced that behaviour when I had a permissions issue on Linux. I'm not sure what would cause it in Windows.

If retrying over and over again does not help you should get the update ZIP; extract it in your UrbanTerror42 folder.

UrtUpdater checks current files and tries to download 8 more files. When it gets to 3 of 8 it says file is corrupt and stops. Any suggestions?
On Linux I have to start the Updater 8 times, because with each run only one file can be downloaded successfully. For other files, the Updater reports, that the file is corrupt. With the next run of the Updater, the 2nd file is downloaded successfully and the 3rd reported as corrupt, and so on.

Have you tried with the server updater in Linux? UrTUpdater_Ded.x86_64 updates also all the client binaries for all platforms.
The Ded updater is only console and requires wget to be installed, but the benefit is that wget can continue interrupted downloads.
I think that most of the problems some people have with the normal updater are related to timeouts in the CDN (content delivery network) and the normal updater is not well suited to deal with small interruptions in the download so it fails to complete a download when the user conection is not very fast.
Wget on the other hand is very reliable and robust for variable speed downloads, etc.

Keep getting file corrupted - checksum error.

Also Update.zip is not working. Get errors for every file trying to download.
Both update ZIP downloads (which aren’t hosted on the urtinfo CDN) fail?
You could use the torrent, or try downloading the new files via browser (from the CDN):
