hey guys i have been recently trying to set up a ctf server for my region and i have been stumped by a simple problem

when i go to the home directory of the urt42 installation
and use ./Quake3-UrT-Ded.i386
it fully loads this file fine but as son as i come to type anything like exec server.cfg
it doesn't type and when it does it takes about 4 hours to type four words
and there is plenty of server resources available so what am i doing incorrect?

Hi man try the following.

./Quake3-UrT-Ded.i386 +exec server.cfg +map ut4_dressingroom

it can behave oddly if it starts up without a map to load.
