Hi
I got a new HD and reinstalled windows7 with a bit updates (not all)
Everything working fin here

I didnt copy my urtfolders to usb blablabla, since i thought a complete new urt4.2 install would be better. On my old hd I only downloaded urt4.2.001 and all updates.

So, when i start urt4.2, after the mini window the screen goes black. No audio. And alt-tab, cntrl-shft-delete (taskmanager) and cntrl-alt-delete dont work. So i have to manually restart pc.
I did that 3 times.

My gpu (amd 6850) is up to date, same for motherboard drivers.

I cant find a log file in my urt4.2 folder.

I dont know how to solve this....

You can get a logfile by running the game with

+set logfile 1

You should be able to add it by creating a shortcut of the executable and modifying the properties. Or you can run cmd.exe, cd to your urban terror directory and

Quake3-UrT.exe +set logfile 1

The log will show up in one of your q3ut4 directories as qconsole.log

Hi, i know the problem lol.
Was just to busy the last 2 days that i just posted the problem without rethinking it.
It has to do with the firewall. But on old win7 install i could do alttab and set rules for it, now it keeps hanging.

This i have in my cfg:

seta r_fullscreen "1"
seta r_mode "-1" // Means: custom resolution
seta r_customwidth "1280"
seta r_customheight "1024"


How do i set it to miniscreen, so when the firewall blocks the new application (urt or gpu) i can just set it as safe application?
When i delete those 4 lines of my cfg and replace them with seta r_fullscreen "0" then i still get a hanging full black screen.

PS: i got a new version of comodo firewall and i dont understand it yet, im more used to zonealarm, and last years i had comodo but it ran pretty fine...

When i disable comodo urt works fine!! but thats not how i want to work it

Thanx that works.
Also, i forgot to rename the autoexec_example to autoexec grgrgrgr so it didnt load my cfg. And its good to set comodofirewall the first weeks in learningmode, its strange that it doesnt show a popup but the popup stays under the black hanging screen.... Me bad. Thanx a lot Lion grgrgr
