A very quick question: I'm on Mac and I just am looking for the q3config file for my friend on PC.
Sorry if this has already been answered, just looking for a quick place to ask. Thanks!

There is a quick answer but I don't have it. But here is a way to find the file:

find / -name 'q3config.cfg' -print

This is a Terminal command and it will show you every file on the computer with the name q3config.cfg.

Haven't tried yet... It's 11:30 PM where I am. We'll try tomorrow!
Just an afterthought though, if you download the full .zip, but can't open the game because of the OpenGL problem, there shouldn't be any config file anyway since no program could've created it... Right?

if you havent started the game ther will be no q3config. if you tried and it crashed there might be one. alternatively you could create one.

in case you want to get the config of your game you could write one with
(console) /writeconfig filename.cfg
Sorry for my bad spelling - I am still asleep. :)

I'll do that if I can't find it, but I repeat that I'm on Mac. The q3config file is under Application Support for me (it's with the authkey and games.log files). Where would it be on Windows?

on win it could be either
PATH/TO/URT/q3ut4/q3config.cfg //guess its this one. where where the path obviously has to be changed xP
or
c:/users/USERNAME/appdata/whatever (sorry idk the exact path. this would only apply if you use ioq3 and run urt as a mod anyway)

if im not mistaken checking a CVAR called fs_homepath would tell you the path you want. this should also work on mac.
just type this into the console and press enter

/fs_homepath

tada!

On Windows you can type this into Terminal:

cd \
dir /s q3config.cfg

This will show you every file on your system with the name q3config.cfg.

and if you got a good indexed windows 7 disk you might not have to wait for like a century (alternatively you could have a small or nearly empty disk)
